The Louis Vuitton project at the Paris fashion week

A French love story unfolds in the location and inspiration of Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton fashion show. During the Paris fashion week, the designer chose to showcase his work at 103 Avenue des Champs-Elysées, a historic building under renovation and emblematic of the Art Nouveau of the 19th century. This building will soon become home to a new project for the Lvmh group brand on the legendary Parisian street.

For this event, the interior spaces have been covered and protected by a recyclable orange covering that is eco-friendly and in line with the Maison’s approach. The covering gives the room a fresh and vibrant appearance. However, the storytelling is also present in the soundtrack, featuring tracks from Zaho de Sagazan. The young French singer, born in 1999, has a passion for 80s electronic music with some nostalgic elements, which can also be found in the collection since its initial look. Starting with the ethereal dresses crafted from sheer fabrics and cinched at the waist with crisscrossed straps, which exude a hedonistic vibe as they glide down the runway in front of a packed audience, including Zendaya and Giancarlo Giammetti.

Prominent vests and glossy coats feature sudden curves and cuts in outerwear. The visual element leads the way with stripes cascading from shoes to body, culminating in origami-shaped bags and leather pumps adorned with bows. This ensemble depicts a life story, the journey of a girl growing into a woman. Lengths change, evolving from a lighter, almost naive romance into a more concrete form. The jewelry emerges, dancing around the neck like deluxe anthems. Until the finale featuring dresses with pleats on one side adorned with numerous jeweled or gold buttons, or the suit jackets resembling pieces borrowed from a high society mother with a rich houndstooth pattern that reveals an expertly embroidered opaque tile design.

Judgment. The collection has a peculiar beginning, but gains momentum in the middle before leaving you slightly puzzled at the end. Nicolas Ghesquière is someone who avoids taking the easy route and refuses to compromise. He prefers to take risks with high stakes at hand.
