Starting on monday, october 23rd, and lasting until wednesday, october 25th, the 22nd edition of the Milano Fashion Global Summit (MFGS) will take place. Organized by Class Editori with institutional partner National Chamber for Italian Fashion (CNMI), the summit provides an exceptional opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into the world of fashion and luxury, while also showcasing current and future scenarios within the sector. From socioeconomic factors to the current geopolitical situation, businesses in the country must continuously respond to market shifts by evolving and developing new solutions and business models that meet tomorrow’s challenges. To comprehend potential innovative solutions and developments for a successful business, the event brings together distinguished Italian executives, entrepreneurs, and stylists, who will present a comprehensive overview of the present-day landscape, discussing various topics related to novel company resources, the revolutionary impact of a new generation of executives, as well as matters relating to eco-friendliness and the significance of technology.

The first day, titled Map 2024. What will the future be like with cross-party groups and alliances? aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the fashion and luxury market through various panels focused on exploring creative, economic and financial aspects. The first morning will start with institutional greetings from Class Editori, followed by a sector overview from Cnmi president, Carlo Capasa. Immediately after, the stage will be taken over by Diego Della Valle, the president of Tod’s. He will deliver a speech on his reflections and vision for the contemporary fashion industry, followed by Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy. Urso will provide a detailed overview of the institutions and exceptional products of the Italian territory. After it, it will be Andrea Guerra’s turn, ceo of Prada, one of the stars of the 2023 edition, in his first public appearance since assuming the position in January. He will talk about the brand’s latest developments, including the dual listing theme, as well as the generational shift from Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli to the new generation represented by Lorenzo Bertelli. One of the most important moment of this day will undoubtedly be Renzo Rosso’s speech upon his return from China. As the Founder and chairman of the Otb group, he managed to create an alternative luxury hub, accelerating with the Marni and the Maison Margiela brands. Rosso presented minister Urso with a vast plan on the Made in Italy for Confindustria Moda. Examining the current state of luxury’s geopolitics will be Michele Norsa, a luxury strategic advisor and board member. Attila Kiss, the Head of Florence group, will scrutinize the supply chain’s significance. The panel discussion Portfolio positioning in 2024 will provide an economic snapshot with Ceos and private equity leaders like Alessandra Gritti, ceo of Tamburi investment partners (Tip), Roberta Benaglia, ceo of Style Capital, and Alessandro Binello, group ceo of Quadrivio. Finally, two keynote speakers will lead the discussion on the next step under the banner of artistic creativity. The first speaker will be Alessandra Facchinetti, who previously served as the creative director for Gucci, Valentino, Moncler, and Tod’s, and is now involved in numerous projects in Italy and Asia. The second noteworthy host making his debut at the MFGS is Lapo Elkann, now serving as a pure creative.

The second day, titled Digital for fashion. Challenges for brands and the supply chain will focus on Made in Italy. This day will feature discussions on various topics, such as the supply chain, nearshoring, technology and the generational transfer of knowledge. In this scenario, Fabrizio Guelpa, head of industry & banking at Intesa Sanpaolo research department, will kick off the proceedings by outlining the changes and expected developments in the Italian fashion sector. Following him, it will be Livio Proli’s turn, ceo of Missoni, a fashion label that, under the guidance of Creative director Filippo Grazioli and with real estate investments, is writing a new chapter for the Maison controlled by Fsi. Chiara Ferragni, a noteworthy figure in female entrepreneurship, will leverage her digital entrepreneurial expertise to address issues related to promoting Made in Italy globally. Francesca di Carrobio, ceo of Hermès in Italy, will discuss the relationship between Italy and France, renowned for their know-how. Within the morning, MFGS will cover a range of topics including the significance of high-tech solutions for the entire supply chain, successful business models, and the strategic importance of partnerships and cooperation. Speakers addressing these issues include Claudio Marenzi of Herno, Luca Tonello of Deda group, Francesco Pieri of Temera, Elisabetta Latini of Adr, Giuseppe Giglio of Giglio.com, Elisabetta Pieragostini of Da.mi., and Francesco Zonin of Zonin1821. Additionally, the focus will be on two panel discussions about transitioning a business to new managerial generations with Stefano Canali, ceo of Canali, and Arianna Casadei, general manager of Casadei.

The third day of the event, called NextGen. The revolution and the transmission of the know-how will focus on exploring the contemporary nuances of know-how and the future of the luxury lifestyle. Not only fashion, but also art, design, automotive, sailing and telecommunications have effectively showcased Made in Italy craftsmanship over time. These industries have enticed even younger consumers by creating engaging experiences. The event will start with a top name in the fashion, namely Alfonso Dolce, ceo of Dolce&Gabbana, followed by the Esg, state-of-the-art panel with Flavio Sciuccati, senior partner of The european house - Ambrosetti, and Jacopo Schettini Gherardini, research office director at Standard Ethics. In addition to Damiani’s presence with ceo Jérôme Favier and Confartigianato, the speeches of the day will feature shared ideas and reflections from Lorenzo Boglione of BasicNet, Lamborghini ceo Stephan Winkelmann, Alberto Galassi from the Ferretti group, Matteo Lunelli from Altagamma, Stefano Beraldo from Ovs, Maria Porro from Salone del Mobile, Giulio Cappellini from Cappellini, and Roberto Gavazzi from Boffi De Padova. Closing the day under the banner of new technology will be ceo of Tlc Giuseppe Del Prete.
