The fashion designer climbs the reputation ranking of Italy’s number ones and shares the podium with Eni and Intesa Sanpaolo executives, confirming the growing role of fashion. Brunello Cucinelli ranks 7th on 150, followed by Renzo Rosso
Giorgio Armani takes the podium for the first time among Italy’s most influential top managers. The designer, who on thursday will receive in his hometown, Piacenza, an honorary degree in Global business management awarded by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (see MFF of April 20), is the first in the fashion industry to take third place in the overall ranking, drawn up every three months by Reputation science. The fashion designer is on the podium of Italy’s top 150 managers alongside Eni ceo Claudio Descalzi in 1st place and Intesa Sanpaolo ceo Carlo Messina in 2nd place. The fashion industry has thus increased relevance, to the extent that executives in the global ranking include Brunello Cucinelli in 7th place and Otb Group’s Renzo Rosso at 13th.
«The survey conducted is based on digital content detectable online and from a plurality of information sources. These are then subjected to a multilevel analysis which collects all aspects of managerial reputation,» Reputation science experts explained. «Each individual content is assigned a reputational weigh on the basis of 100 parameters, such as sentiment, relevance, pertinence, source importance». Under this modus operandi, managers are asked to task on multiple fronts, from corporate to social to environmental. Its partnership with Italia Team for Milano Cortina 2026, an agreement intended to support the XXV Olympic and paralympic winter games involving the two locations (see MFF of April 4), as well as the «Acqua for Life» charity project (see MFF of April 6), helped his rise. The goal of Armani’s charity initiative is to provide access to clean drinking water to 1 million people who live in countries with water scarcity within the next 7 years. The group’s owner managed to achieve an annual variation of 15.1% and a score of 77.68.
Brunello Cucinelli stands out among the Top 10 managers in the overall ranking and for placing himself 2nd in the ranking for the fashion industry. His web reputation trend, a proponent of the «contemporary humanistic capitalism» adopted in the company, recorded a variation of +13.1% in a single year and an increase of 1.65% in the last three months with a score of 74.46. Renzo Rosso, founder and chairman of Otb group is also on the podium, with a score of 67.93 and a year-on-year variation of +10.4%. He is followed by Remo Ruffini of Moncler with a 2.4% increase and a score of 62.69. In 5th place, with 60.50 out of 100 and a percentage variation of +6.1%, is Miuccia Prada, followed by Francesco Milleri of Luxottica with a score of 60.33 and a 25% increase in one year. In contrast, Diego Della Valle, owner of Tod’s Group, ranks 7th with a score of 59.12 and an increase in percentage variation of 10.7% over 2022. With a +0.3% for the quarter, Gildo Zegna also gains a position in the ranking, followed by Mario Moretti Polegato of Geox, with a score of 44.61. Closing out the top 10 fashion managers is Leonardo Ferragamo with an annual variation of +10% and a top score of 43.17.
Among the strongest all-time top leaders in entrepreneurship there are as well Gianni Agnelli, Laura Biagiotti, Gianni Versace, Luisa Spagnoli, and Leonardo Del Vecchio. (All rights reserved)
