After making its debut in grand style last year in Venice, the new era of Dolce&Gabbana Home starts again from Milan, with the inauguration of a new boutique dedicated to furnishing accessories, which occupies the spaces of Corso Venezia 7, traditionally dedicated to D&G Family. Lava stone, which also covers the circular columns, glass and black lacquered wood are the recurring elements of the environment, painted with colour thanks to the exuberance of the four all-over prints that characterize this first collection, paying homage to Sicilian tradition, animalier and the Mediterranean. In the store, amplified by a few incursions of furniture, lines of accessories for the table, decorative objects, wallpaper, scented candles and objects resulting from the collaboration with Smeg are available. The furniture segment, on the other hand, is centred in the store just opened in Via Durini, in partnership with Luxury living group.

The two stores represent a new era for Dolce&Gabbana’s Home Collection. How did you imagine them?

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana: We are very happy with the development of the Home Collection. These openings in Milan represent the starting point of our retail adventure on which we have been working. We wanted two different stores, each one dedicated to specific product categories, but at the same time complementary. The boutique in Corso Venezia 7 houses twill and duchesse cushions, printed quilts, mouth-blown Murano glassware and Sicilian ceramic plates for an impeccable mise en place, scented candles and lacquered wood accessories. The furnishings, from large fabric sofas to lacquered oak tables and accessorized bar furniture, are located in Via Durini 23.

Your first collection, on display here, has reinterpreted four macro-themes that are dear to you. Can you reveal some previews of the proposals you will launch at the Salone del Mobile? Will there be a change of pace?

D.D and S.G: We are working on new proposals, and we will certainly present new items in June, but we would rather not anticipate too much. We can say that, as with all the projects we work on, our goal is to convey an inclusive and attractive message to all our clients, regardless of their age. As for printed patterns, they are part of our DNA, they will always be our strong point.

Are there any news in terms of distribution? Are you planning to open new dedicated spaces and expand your target markets?

D.D and S.G: Absolutely, after the openings in Milan others will soon follow, including in Capri, Cannes and Puerto Banus. We are also looking overseas. In addition, we are focusing on the e-commerce channel, which is active since December 2021 and is already working well.

You presented your collection in Venice and now you are starting from Milan. Is this a common thread linked to beauty?

D.D and S.G: We are certainly very attached to places, but even more so to the beauty celebrated by the Italian craftsmanship par excellence, in all its forms. We are happy to be able to export it worldwide, narrating the art of home living on this occasion.

Dolce&Gabbana Home is an extension of your aesthetic into the world of living. Do you plan or would you like to work on larger interior projects?

D.D and S.G: Yes, but we believe we should move in small steps. Interior design is an even bigger challenge for which we need to be prepared, we will get there. (All rights reserved)
