Chanel’s rich summer

The setting for the double-C brand resembles a postcard, telling the long summer envisioned by Virginie Viard for Chanel. In the background, the beautiful hills of the Bay of Hyères offer a mesmerizing view on the Côte d’Azur. The large hall highlights the minimal structure of squared colonnades that reminisce the architecture of Villa Noailles, the historic residence commissioned by the viscounts Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles from architect Robert Mallet-Stevens. Not just any location, this place reflects a blend of aristocratic and artistic mood, inspired by the influential patroness of the arts in the 20th century, Viscountess de Noailles, who was associated with talents like Salvador Dalí, Balthus, and Jean Cocteau.

Not merely some random place, but a dwelling where the Chanel women transition between extremes. Long gowns that brush against the floor, and delicate sun dresses adorned with frills. Swimsuits complemented by a cover-up, and suits with flowing silhouettes and loose trousers. Polo dresses in vibrant hues with luxurious fabrics reminiscent of the iconic jackets made by the French fashion house. Passing through a display of knitted clothing and skirts with navy stripes, Vittoria Ceretti models outfits with minimal tops featuring a prominently displayed logo. Moving on to micro stone embroidery for evening wear on sheer shirts with goblet sleeves, alternating with a completely black sequin-embroidered outfit worn by Gigi Hadid between finale outings. The looks were completed with eye-catching and playful accessories, such as flat sequin bags, hyper-geometric mini bags, and two-tone black and white mixes.

Judgment. The collection offers a lighter and more playful approach, not only in terms of the silhouette but also in overall dressing.
